The California State University Stanislaus Stockton Center is now under one large roof in University Park as preparations are being made for the start of the fall semester on Thursday, September 4.
All classrooms, laboratories, offices, and other services and facilities are now located on the first floor of University Park’s largest building, Acacia Court, where the University occupies more than 47,000 square feet of the three-story, 219,000-square-foot building. The computer laboratories, instructional television facilities, and Nursing Department practicum classroom laboratory were moved from nearby Weber Hall where they had been located since the CSU Stanislaus Stockton Center opened at University Park in 1998.
Having all Stockton programs and facilities in the spacious Acacia Court building will be much more convenient for students, according to Dave Hamlett, Dean of the CSU Stanislaus Stockton Center.
To accommodate the additional students, faculty, and staff at Acacia, an additional parking area was added on the south side of the building.
A number of technology facility improvements are being made in conjunction with the move to Acacia. In addition to the two computer laboratories moved from Weber Hall to Acacia Court, two more laboratories will be available to students by the end of the year and additional computers will be added in the Library. The three instructional television classrooms where classes are broadcast between the CSU Stanislaus campus in Turlock and the Stockton Center will also have high definition screens on line by the end of the year.
