Do you wish you had strategies to turn to when responding to and grading student writing? Are you teaching a WP course and want to develop or strengthen your ability to incorporate writing into your course (in any discipline)? Do you want to incorporate peer review into your courses but haven’t been happy with how that’s turned out? Join this FLC! Within this FLC, you’ll explore best practices in designing writing assignments, incorporating drafting and peer review, responding to student writing, and assessing student writing.

QPR is an evidence-informed training that focuses on three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. In this 1.5-hour training, people will learn; The typical warning signs and risk factors of suicidal behavior. Protective factors for suicide prevention. How to have a conversation with someone you think may be suicidal. Finally, how to get help for someone in crisis. It is hosted by Health Education & Promotion (HEP).

Through storytelling, spoken word poetry, and interactive critical discourse, Mayo guides us through her life as an immigrant to the Bay Area in the 90s, surviving deportation at 13 years old, re-learning her cultural identity while living in poverty, and coming back to America as a Fulbright scholar.
