What: Nikki Giovanni keynote address and informal conversation with the academic community

Details: World-renowned poet, author and civil rights activist Nikki Giovanni will visit CSU Stanislaus in an event presented by the university and the Atwater-Merced Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Giovanni will give a keynote address at 3 p.m. March 24 in the Snider Recital Hall, and that will be followed by the sorority's centennial celebration. From 10 to 11 a.m. March 25, in the campus' South Dining Hall, Giovanni will hold an informal conversation with the academic community. The events are free and open to the public.

In addition to the university and sorority, Giovanni's visit is made possible by the university's College of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Associated Students Inc., Alumni Association, and Friends of the University.
