The Office of Communications and Public Affairs will conduct a routine full database test of the StanAlert emergency notification system Thursday, May 12, around 10:30 a.m. This is only a test. In the event of an actual emergency, the StanAlert system will be used to convey critical information and directions to help ensure the safety of the University community.

During the test, you should expect to receive voice, email and text messages across your known devices and accounts. Your University phone number and email are entered into the system automatically. To receive text or voice messages via StanAlert to non-University phones, you must manually add/update your contact information. You are urged to complete this vital step because it is critical that the system be able to reach you quickly — and in an emergency, every second matters. Please allow at least two hours for your updates to become active in the system.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this test.
