Nominations are being accepted for the third annual Ethics in Public Service Award, a joint venture between California State University, Stanislaus and The Modesto Bee designed to recognize and reward the ethical behavior of elected officials and public service agents.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, April 2. Nomination forms are available at the CSU Stanislaus Office of the President or on the University Web site at www.csustan.edu under "News & Events." Nominees will be announced prior to the breakfast awards ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 11 in the CSU Stanislaus Event Center where the winner will be honored.

"This award acknowledges the value and impact of ethical judgment, integrity, responsibility, and service," CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani said. "These inherent standards build a foundation upon which our communities can flourish and deserve to be publicly heralded and applauded."

Previous award winners have been Superintendent of Modesto City Schools James C. Enochs in 2004 and Turlock City Manager Steve Kyte and Stanislaus County Office of Education Superintendent Martin Petersen who shared the honors at the 2005 presentation.
