Michele Lahti has been appointed interim vice president for university advancement at California State University, Stanislaus, overseeing the division’s development and communications operations. She also joins the president’s Cabinet as a member of the University’s leadership team.

Lahti, who served as associate vice president for university development at Stanislaus State, has more than 15 years of progressively responsible experience as a leader and administrator in higher education. Her record of success includes building programs, partnerships and systems that increase private support, fortify relationships and foster collaboration. She received her doctorate and master’s degrees from the University of the Pacific and her undergraduate degree from Sacramento State. 

Janice Curtin, director for communications and creative services, has been appointed interim associate vice president for communications and public affairs. Her responsibilities include crisis communications, media relations, government relations and strategic projects for the division and the University. She will also play a significant role in deepening ties to the community and in expanding the University’s brand.
