Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Active Duty)

  • Available for those who enlisted in the US Armed Forces
  • Categories I-IV Requirements (please refer to link below)
  • Honorable Discharge

Chapter 31 Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Program

  • Received a discharge other than Dishonorable
  • Have a service-connected disability rating of at least - 10%, or a memorandum rating of - 20% or more from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA)
  • May be used 12 years from date of separation from service

Chapter 33 Post 9/11 Bill

  • Still on active duty or honorably discharged from active duty
  • Served at least 90 aggregate days of active duty after September 10, 2001
  • Percentage of benefit determined by length of service (please refer to link below)

Chapter 1606 (Reservist) (Reserve)

  • Currently attached to a Select Reserve Military Service
  • Completed your initial active duty training
  • Must have a 6 year obligation to serve in the Select Reserve

Chapter 1607 Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)

  • Reservist who Served on Active duty after September 11, 2001 for at least 90 days
  • National Guard member who served active duty for 90 consecutive days or more
  • All other eligibilities determined by the Department of Defense (DoD)

Chapter 35 Dependents Educational Assistance Program

  • Spouse, Son, or Daughter of a veteran who is connected to a service disability
  • Missing in Action
  • Died in Service

California Veteran's Fee Waiver

  • Have a parent who has a service connected (S-C) disability of 0% or higher
  • Child must earn less than $11,369.00/yr (student's income, not parents').
  • Have a spouse or domestic partner who is S/C deceased or rated 100% S/C disabled.
