The Division of University Advancement at California State University, Stanislaus has named Mary Hartsfield as its new Director of Annual Giving.

Hartsfield previously worked for six years at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where she was in charge of overseeing all operating functions and reporting systems in support of the hospital’s comprehensive fundraising program. In excess of $9.5 million was raised during her time at Emanuel. Emanuel utilized the “team concept” approach similar to the one used by Stanislaus State in its successful One Purpose annual campaign, devoted solely to scholarships for student success.

“I am excited to have the privilege of engaging campus and community members in One Purpose to afford them the unique opportunity to support student success and feed into the region’s workforce,” Hartsfield said.

Hartsfield, who earned her bachelor’s degree in management from the University of West Florida, joined the University in October 2014, as Director of Advancement Operations.

“I have great confidence in Ms. Hartsfield from having worked with her for more than seven years, first at Emanuel Medical Center and now at Stanislaus State,” said Shirley Pok, vice president for university advancement. “The One Purpose annual campaign will surely benefit from Ms. Hartsfield’s skilled oversight, as well as from her genuine appreciation for volunteers and donors. She is a poised professional who enters new situations with care and preparedness, and is equally equipped to cultivate a sense of confidence with long-standing constituents.”
