The Warrior Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be inducted on Saturday, Feb. 6, as part of Homecoming Week at Stanislaus State.

The team will be honored at a luncheon that afternoon and introduced to the crowd at halftime of the men’s basketball game that night against Cal State East Bay.

This year’s class honors multiple generations of Warriors, all of whom gave historic performances during their time at Stan State.

The 1982 men’s basketball team, which reached the NCAA Division III Final Four, will be honored for a season in which they finished second in the Far West Conference and won three home-court games to reach the Final Four.

The other inductees all are entering the Hall of Fame as individuals. Meghan Franksen (Breeze) was a four-time all-conference shortstop who led Stanislaus State to the 2007 Division II West Region championship. Marc Lawless was a two-time All-American golfer who led the Warriors to the 2001 conference title and two top-three finishes in the NCAA Tournament. Martha Moran coached two sports and was physical education chairman from 1973-95. Joel Stallworth was a three-time All-American in track who won six conference titles and still holds three Stanislaus sprint records. George While played basketball at Stan State for only one season (1968-69,) but holds the single-season scoring record with 805 points, including a 53-point effort against Valley State (now Cal State Northridge).

Tickets for the Feb. 6 induction ceremony are $40 per person. For more information on the Athletics Hall of Fame and to purchase tickets, please contact Warrior Athletics at (209) 667-3016, or visit the event website.
