SSCP Clinical Practice

1. Complete and submit a ST-Fieldwork Application by the 2/28/23 deadline.
    
2. Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0
    
3. Be admitted and matriculated to Stanislaus State Graduate School and Credential Program
    
4. Have a valid TB Clearance on file for the entire fieldwork period [August 2023 - Spring 2024]
    
5. Have a valid CCTC Clearance on file for the entire fieldwork period [August 2023 - Spring 2024]
    
6. Fully Complete Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) - Here are a few common ways to meet BSR but you can visit CCTC BSR for the complete option list.
   • Pass all CBEST subtests - if you are working on taking the CBEST exam, whether it is one section or all three, proof of registration is required. Passing results must be received by April 28, 2023, to clear.
   • Pass Commission-approved coursework - this option requires completing and submitting a Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) Form to Credential Services credentials@csustan.edu (if you have not already). A Credential Analyst will evaluate your coursework and confirm if you meet this requirement through coursework or not.
   • Combine passed CBEST subtests and Commission-approved coursework - this option requires completing and submitting a Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) Form to Credential Services credentials@csustan.edu (if you have not already). A Credential Analyst will evaluate your coursework and confirm if you meet this requirement through coursework and CBEST subtests or not. 
      
7. Fully Complete Subject Matter Competency (SMC) - As of now, SMC can be completed through one of the following options:
   • Subject Matter Preparation Program (SMPP) - undergraduate program in credential content area 
   • Pass all CSETs in credential content area - if you are working on taking the CSET exams, whether it is one or all, proof of registration is required. Passing results must be received by April 28, 2023, to clear. 
   • Have an authorized bachelor's degree that matches credential content area. - this option requires completing and submitting a Subject Matter Competency (SMC) Verification Form to Credential Services credentials@csustan.edu (if you have not submitted already). A Credential Analyst will evaluate your record and confirm if you meet this requirement through your academic major. *If you are currently completing specific courses for your degree and you are not doing a SMPP, rushed transcript requests will be required by end of semester; degrees must be posted in order for you to clear and proceed with clinical practice.*
      
8. Complete and Pass EDSS 3900 - Foundations of Secondary Education
   • EDSS 3900 must have been taken and successfully completed or be in-progress when applying for fieldwork consideration. If this course is in-progress, a Course Verification Form must be completed by your course instructor is required with your fieldwork application. 
      
9. Complete and Pass w/ C or better: Second Language Experience, WP English Composition, American Government/Constitution and ALL Credential Admission Requirements.
    

​Due to placement availability, anyone with pending eligibility requirements after April 28, 2023, will be waitlisted. The cleared list is on a first come, first serve basis. We cannot guarantee placement if BSR/SMC is fully passed, or necessary documentation is submitted after the 4/28/23 deadline. Begin to obtain and turn in all necessary documentation to credentials@csustan.edu if you have not done so already.
