Bb Assignments

Instructors may place an Assignment Link in any of the content areas of your course where you can upload a completed assignment in the form of a computer file, e.g., Word, Excel, zip., to the Bb site similar to attaching a document to email. An entry is automatically created in the instructor's Grade Center when you upload and Submit your assignment. Your instructor will grade the assignment and post the grade directly to the Grade Center. You can view the grade and any feedback or instructor's attachments from your My Grades link in the Bb Tools area.

In your Course:

  1. Click the Content Area (Course Documents, Assignments, Syllabus, Course Information) that has the assignment link.
  2. Click the View/Complete. . . link.
  3. Enter comments in the text box, as desired.
  4. Click the Browse button to navigate to the file on your computer.
  5. Click Open or similar button on the navigation window.
  6. Click Submit.

Can I add a second file to my assignment?

Yes, but only before you click the Submit button. Once you have uploaded your first file, click the Browse button again to choose a second or third file. A Choose File window will open. Locate the file you wish to add and click the Open button. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

When you click the Submit button, the link is locked and you can make no changes.

Note: Although it's possible add multiple files by clicking the Browse button again and choosing new files, it's often easier and safer to put all the assignment files in a folder, zip/compress that folder, and submit the zipped file.

How to Compress/Zip Folders

Place all files to be compressed/zipped in a new folder.

Name the folder according to your instructor's course naming protocol.

Mac

Right- or Control-click the folder; select Compress or Archive "folder name"

The compressed (zipped) folder is created.

---

Submit the zipped folder to Bb in the Assignment link.

Opening a zipped folder creates a copy of the original folder.

Windows Users: unzip/extract files before opening them. Mac OS X will unzip a file by double clicking it.
