Leadership Programs

Warrior Leadership Program

The Warrior Leadership Program is open to all Stan State students. Students can attend workshops and experiences throughout the academic year in two different pathways, Emerging Leaders or Advanced Leaders, to become a Stan State Certified Student Leader.  Workshops are designed to help students develop and refine leadership skills in six different leadership themed areas.

  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Wellness
  • Citizenship
  • Warrior Spirit
  • Career Development

The Emerging Leaders Pathway:

  • Attend four (4) workshops
  • Complete ten (10) hours of community service
  • Submit a written reflection
  • Complete a Career Portfolio

The Advanced Leaders Pathway:

  • Attend six (6) workshops, one from each leadership theme
  • Complete twenty (20) hours of community service
  • Submit a written reflection
  • Complete a Career Portfolio

All workshops and experiences will be documented through WarriorHub and Portfolium, which will help you build a Co-Curricular Transcript and make you more marketable when you are looking for employment.

Students who complete either pathway will earn a certificate and be recognized at the Annual Student leadership Awards.  Students who complete the Advanced Leaders pathway will also earn a graduation stole.

Leadership Conference

Saturday, October 5 & Sunday, October 6, 2019
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Dr. Marvalene Hughes Leadership Conference will focus on individual leadership skills, group dynamics, experiential development, and service learning.  It will help you discover and gain the knowledge to cultivate your leadership style.

The first day will consist of an inaugural keynote address with Dr. Marvalene Hughes, featured speakers, and breakout sessions on leadership skills, student organizations, public speaking, career development and more.

The second day will include both a ropes course and a service learning experience. Those who attend the conference will earn the Dr. Marvalene Hughes Leadership certificate. The certificate will recognize your commitment to inspire and change the world while doing service for others in your communities.

Faculty & Staff: Call for Programs

We are seeking presenters to facilitate a 50-minute program and/or workshop during the Conference Breakout Sessions on Saturday in the areas of Leadership Development, Career Development, Social Justice/Diversity, Student Organizations, and Wellness. Learn more
