The Writing Proficiency Screening Test (WPST)
The Writing Proficiency Screening Test (WPST) assesses your readiness for Writing Proficiency (WP) courses, which are writing intensive courses designed to teach discipline-specific writing conventions. The University Writing Committee oversees the designation of WP courses. Successfully passing the WPST and an approved WP course for your major with a grade of C- or higher, indicates that your department endorses your writing competency and that you have satisfied the University's Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement. At the moment, the non-refundable registration fee of $25 is payable to the Cashier's Office (MSR 100) and Stockton campus as well, or online within 24 hours of registration. Please provide us with the receipt for proof of payment right after you paid at the Turlock Campus Cashier's Office (MSR 100).
