The 2024 Ethnic Studies Black History Month event at Stanislaus State will take place this year on Feb. 28. In the face of existing anti-Black racism and power imbalances, AI and digital technologies are increasingly becoming tools that reinforce inequalties and injustices, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. We believe it is important to make our students and the broader community aware of these issues and begin to explore ways to navigate the challenges they present. In this event, we explore the intersection of AI, digital technologies, and social justice, particularly focusing on how these tools can perpetuate anti-Black racism and power imbalances.
