A dark and mystifying tragedy, the story of King Lear examines the consequences of greed, cruelty, betrayal, and lust for power. Lear, an aging monarch, foolishly divides his kingdom among his three daughters. After being cruelly mistreated by two of them, Lear finally learns humility and humanity at the cost of his life.
