Halyna Kornuta became the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Accreditation Liaison Office in November 2010. She collaborates and provides leadership within the university community for the purpose of continuously improving the quality of education for students. Dr. Kornuta has served as the Director of Educational Effectiveness at California Lutheran University and National University. As Associate Professor, Dr. Kornuta was a faculty member teaching in the credentialing and educational administration programs and also taught leadership in masters and doctoral programs. She has led and participated in accreditation projects including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
Dr. Kornuta has been a K-12 teacher and an elementary school principal in Canada and Germany. he has provided leadership and volunteer service nationally, in Belize, and at the YWCA World Council and International Women's Summit in Seoul. She has traveled to over 40 countries.
Dr. Kornuta studied International Leadership and received her doctorate from the University of San Diego. She received a Masters of Education in educational administration and a Bachelor of Education in secondary education (mathematics and chemistry) from the University of Saskatchewan.
