I hope this message finds you doing well on the first day of May. You have been on my mind consistently these past months but I have tried not to overwhelm you with email messages. We all realize how very busy you are with your courses and changes to both work and personal lives with the evolving reality of a global pandemic.
I write this afternoon to share a letter with you (please see attached). Shortly after we realized we were going to need to very quickly transition to alternate/remote teaching modalities, I began to hear from faculty leadership that many faculty were very concerned about how future evaluations would perceive work done during the Spring 2020 semester. We agreed at that time that I would prepare a letter that would be placed in all faculty members’ Personnel Action Files (PAF) memorializing the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19 and also encouraging individuals and committees participating in future reviews of faculty work to consider this important context.
It was with that goal in mind, that I crafted the attached message. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for all you do for Stan State and our students. I am so very proud to be a part of your team and I am consistently reminded of your grit, your heart, and your talent. Because we are in this together, we’ll get through it together!
