Our Mission
The mission of the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Program (TRRP) is to increase the diversity pool and total number of students enrolling in undergraduate or post-baccalaureate teacher preparation programs. TRRP helps guide future teachers through the credential program application process and provides financial aid information and credential examination preparation resources. Additionally, TRRP supports future teachers in developing the skills necessary to succeed educationally and professionally.

Stanislaus State offers state approved Subject Matter Preparation Programs (SMPP) in the areas/majors of Art, English, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Spanish. Subject Matter Preparation Programs are undergraduate teacher preparation majors that meet [single] subject matter competency requirements. Students who graduate from a SMPP are not required to take the California Subject Matter Examinations (CSET's) as they will have met subject matter competency requirements through coursework.
