1. Complete University General Education requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree.

2. Complete the following prerequisites to the major:

3. Complete the major of at least 24 upper-division units (including no more than two GE/F2 courses)

1. Complete the following required courses:

- PHIL 4200 [7] - Advanced Studies in the History of Philosophy (WP)
2. Complete one History of Philosophy course from the following list:
(3 units)
- PHIL 3010 [8] - Advanced Introduction to Philosophy
- PHIL 3050 [9] - Existentialism (GE/F2)
- PHIL 3100 [10] - Introduction to Continental Philosophy
- PHIL 4200 [7] - Advanced Studies in the History of Philosophy (WP) (second section)
3. Complete two "Value Theory" courses from the following list:
(6 units)
- PHIL 4000 [11] - Philosophy through Literature
- PHIL 4050 [12] - Environmental Ethics (GE/F2)
- PHIL 4430 [13] - Bioethics (GE/F2)
- PHIL 4450 [14] - Eastern Philosophy: Concepts, Methods, and Context (GE/F2)
- PHIL 4500 [15] - Philosophy of Art (WP)
- PHIL 4600 [16] - Philosophy and Feminism
- PHIL 4800 [17] - Nature Revisited: Environmental Issues in Philosophical Perspective
4. Complete two "Philosophical Issues" courses from the following list:

- PHIL 3300 [18] - Belief and Knowledge
- PHIL 3500 [18] - Philosophy of Mind (WP)
- PHIL 4150 [19] - Cognitive Phenomenology
- PHIL 4300 [20] - Philosophy of Language
- PHIL 4700 [21] - Contemporary Latin American Political Philosophy
- PHIL 4960 [22] - Senior Seminar
Track 2, Graduate School
(30 units, no more than one GE/F2 course)
Complete the above requirements (but with no more than one GE/F2 course), along with the following two courses (6 units).
- PHIL 4200 [7] - Advanced Studies in the History of Philosophy (WP)
- Any other upper-division non-GE course from the above list, 3 units
4. Senior Paper Requirement:
In addition to completing course requirements for the BA degree, each student must submit a capstone paper that conforms to established department criteria. Guidelines and criteria are available from the department chair.
