Professor
Originally from the Bay Area, after three years in the Army (two in Germany) I began my education at West Valley Community College in Campbell. My B.A. I obtained from U.C. Santa Cruz and my M.A. from San Francisco State University. Continuing my ever northward journey I attended Washington State University for my Ph.D. Again moving north I traveled to Alaska for my research. I spent about two years in Cordova and 16 years in Anchorage. I traveled extensively throughout Alaska conducting different projects. I taught for 8 years at Alaska Pacific University before I came here where I’ve been teaching for 17 years. I am married to Jeri Swenson who was a social worker and clinical therapist. I like to garden, do bonsi, cook, read extensively and travel. I will retire this year and FERP.
