As a first generation college student reared in the Central Valley, Dr. Bukko shared, "I feel like I'm coming home as I join the faculty at Stanislaus State. This is where I learned that anything can be possible for ALL students, no matter the barriers and hardships life can pose."

During her thirty year career as a public educator, Dr. Bukko taught high school English and then went on to serve as a school site administrator as well as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services at the district office level.
