Dr. Dana Eaton is the current superintendent of schools for the Brentwood Union School District, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to that, he served as the superintendent of the Jefferson School District. He has served as a director, principal, assistant principal, mentor teacher and teacher during his 26-year career. He earned his bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University, his master’s degree from Saint Mary’s College and his doctorate from the University of LaVerne. Dr. Eaton has served as an adjunct professor for both Cal State East Bay and Cal State Stanislaus, has served on dissertation committees for the University of LaVerne and is a leadership coach for equity through U.C. Berkeley.

Dr. Eaton is a member of the Superintendent Advisory Panel for the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE). He is a Board Member of the Fiscal Crisis Management and Assistance Team (FCMAT). He is past president of the California City Superintendent Association and current chair of the California State Superintendent Symposium Planning Committee. Dr. Eaton is a past Brentwood Rotary President and is co-president of the Brentwood Regional Community Chest.

Dr. Eaton was awarded the ACSA Superintendent of the Year award for both his local region, as well as the Bay Area in 2016. He received a 125th anniversary alumni award from the University of LaVerne and was named Brentwood Citizen of the Year in 2019 by the Chamber of Commerce.

He lives in Brentwood and is married to his wife Renee, a teacher, and has two amazing children, Emily and James.
