Getting Extramural Grants

This workshop is designed for faculty, staff, and administrators interested in learning about how to get extramural grants to sponsor professional projects. The workshop includes topics such as: how to find funding prospects; how to respond effectively to requests for proposals; how the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) works with you to develop and submit your proposal; and what happens after you are awarded. The ORSP Team delivers the workshop, with time built in for questions and open discussion.

Human Subjects Research and the University Institutional Review Board (UIRB) Workshop

This workshop is designed for all students wanting to learn about securing UIRB approval to conduct research that involves human subjects. The workshop includes an overview of definitions of human subjects research, levels of UIRB review, procedures for submitting a UIRB application, and training available to students regarding responsible conduct in research. A UIRB Member delivers the workshop, and both the UIRB Member and the UIRB Administrator are available to answer questions about the application process. Faculty members advising student research are encouraged to attend.
