29th Annual Student Research Competition

The Student Research Competition promotes excellence in undergraduate and graduate research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student scholarship across all disciplines. Top three places in each category earn monetary awards, and up to 10 outstanding presentations may be nominated by the faculty jury to advance to the CSU statewide competition to be held at CSU San Bernardino, May 1-2, 2015. Participants may co-present a collaborative project.

Human Subjects Research and the University Institutional Review Board (UIRB) Workshop
Thursday, March 19, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 21, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
This workshop is designed for all graduate students wanting to learn about securing UIRB approval to conduct research that involves human subjects. The workshop includes an overview of definitions of human subjects research, levels of UIRB review, procedures for submitting a UIRB application, and training available to students regarding responsible conduct in research. A UIRB Member delivers the workshop, and both the UIRB Member and the UIRB Administrator are available to answer questions about the application process. Faculty members advising graduate student research are welcome to attend.
