American Language and Culture Program

The American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) is a part of the Office of International Education at CSU Stanislaus.  Our programs offer international students the opportunity to experience life at an American university through studies in English language and university courses.

Study English

Students who would like to improve their English can study in our non-credit intensive English program for non-native English speakers. The courses are designed to prepare students for academic study at the university and professional careers. In addition, the courses prepare students for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), which is required for admission to the university.

conditional Admission

Conditional Admission

Students who would like to earn a degree at Stan State, but do not have the required score on an English proficiency test like TOEFL or IELTS can apply for a conditional admission.  Once they successfully complete the English program, they will start taking classes in their degree program.

Fee-paying students from our partner institutions who would like to study undergraduate or graduate courses can earn university credits through Study @ Stan State.
