The Office of International Education, Academic Affairs
California State University, Stanislaus: is a constituent member of the California State University System, the largest four-year system of higher education in the United States. We have 23 campuses, nearly 437,000 students, and 44,000 faculty and staff. The CSU, which spans the entire state of California, has an annual budget of more than $5 billion. It is one of the mostÂ diverse and most affordable university systems in the country.
The office of International Education reports to Mahmoud Lamadanie who is the director and Chief administrator with supervisory oversight over all campus wide international affairs & Programs. Lamadanie also chairs the universityâs International Advisory Committee. The OIE includes International Academic Studies Abroad, Office of International Student & Scholars Services, International Admissions Coordination, and The English Language Program for International Students.

OIE provides a functional partnership and is a bridge between the division of academic affairs student affairs & other university constituencies as âone stop shopping modelâ of international programs. OIE fosters global cooperation and articulation linkages that augment overall campus internationalization. Additionally, OIE provides immigration counseling, coordinates the Homelandâs Security (SEVIS Database System) and complies with the code of federal regulations as it pertains to F-1, J-1 and M-1 nonimmigrant visas. It also provides retention services for international students & supports foreign faculty exchanges and cross-cultural advising. OIE also administers an intensive ESL program called the English Language Program (ELP), which is designed to help international students prepare for entrance to the university.
The Office of Study Abroad & International Academic Programs coordinates international academic programs, faculty exchanges, faculty taught courses overseas, foreign language initiatives and international studies; international joint degree programs and special summer language and academic programs in cooperation with the provostâs office.
OIE serves as liaison and ombudsman between the university and international students, global partners, federal government, public and private agencies, and the community.
