September 18-24 is Alumni Week at Stanislaus State, a time for alumni to reconnect with each other and their campus while interacting with future alumni, sharing their knowledge and love for their alma mater. The week features a lineup of opportunities to meet current Stan State students, as well as exciting activities and social events culminating in a family-friendly carnival on Sunday.
Monday thru Friday
Would you like to share your experiences, knowledge and expertise with Stan State students, faculty, staff and your fellow Warrior alumni? We would like to invite you to host a lecture, panel discussion, social networking hour, a lunch or dinner, or even give a TED-style presentation during Alumni Week Sept. 18-22. With many options to interact with students and fellow alumni, you chose how to share your story and network with students and recent graduates interested in your industry. Sign up online to get started.
Warriors Explore Downtown
Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to enjoy a night on the town, highlighting all Downtown Turlock has to offer. Stan State Associated Students Inc. has partnered with the City of Turlock to bring this event to the community. The fun begins at Central Park, where arts and crafts, a caricature artist, a dunk tank, games, a rock wall, airbrushed hats and a DJ will provide entertainment. Guests are encouraged to stroll the surrounding downtown stores and restaurants, many of whom will offer specials and discounts. Participants are encouraged to wear red to show their Warrior Pride.
Fall Garden Party All-Class Reunion, “Lawn Games & Libations”
From 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday, all Stan State alumni are invited to attend the Fall Garden Party All-Class Reunion, “Lawn Games & Libations” event. Graduates from all classes will join together to enjoy an evening of lawn games — think beanbag toss, croquet, life-sized Jenga, bocce ball and more — heavy hors d’ouevres, wine, beer and non-alcoholic refreshments. Have fun mingling with fellow alumni, reminiscing on your time at Stan State and reconnecting with friends. At the event, a special prize (and bragging rights) will be awarded to all members of the graduating class with the most registered attendees.
Golden Grad Brunch
Celebrating with Golden Grads to mark their 50-year reunion is a tradition at Stan State. This year, Stan State has created a special event for graduates from the class of 1967 (and before) to get together and enjoy a catered brunch on campus. Golden Grads will get to know Stanislaus State President, Ellen Junn and reconnect with former classmates from 10 a.m.-noon.
Remembering the Union
As many alumni have heard, Stan State is building a new student center to better serve the needs of our growing campus community. On Saturday evening former ASI and USU members will reunite to say farewell to the existing student union with a walk-through cocktail hour before its scheduled demolition in January, and learn about the new student center to be built in its place. Beverages and hors d’ouevres will be provided.
Alumni Week will culminate with a family-friendly carnival for alumni, their families, and the campus community hosted by ASI. The StanFest Carnival is a free, fun-filled community event boasting an array of activities suitable for children of all ages, including carnival-style games, bounce houses, face painting and more. It’s a wonderful place for the Stanislaus community to come together in the Quad at the center of campus for an exciting day of family and fun. Snacks and refreshments will be available at the event for purchase.
