Percussion

Divesh Karamchandani graduated in 2012 from California State University, Stanislaus with a Bachelors of Music in percussion performance and instrumental music education and graduated in 2014 from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Masters of Music in percussion performance. He studied under the tutelage of Jack Van Geem, Jacob Nissly, James Lee Wyatt III, Chris Woodham and Allen Brown.

Karamchandani is the principal percussionist of the Modesto-based Townsend Opera Players as well a section member of the Fresno Grand Opera. He also maintains an active freelance career in the Greater Bay Area performing with Livermore Opera, Golden Gate Symphony, Bay Pointe Ballet and One Found Sound.

Karamchandani is equally passionate about teaching as he is about performing. He is one of the youngest Teaching Artists in the San Francisco Symphony’s Instrument Training and Support Program. He is also the Director of Percussion at Philip & Sala Burton High School in San Francisco and teaching at numerous schools in the Bay Area. Karamchandani returns to Stanislaus State each year to teach at the University’s Summer Music camp.
