The McNair Scholars Program at Stanislaus State has closed its current application cycle.
Students from ALL undergraduate majors who have completed at least 30 units (sophomore standing) and want to go to graduate school for a Masters or Ph.D. are encouraged to apply.
In order to be eligible for the McNair Scholars program, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled at Stan State, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and fit into at least one of two eligibility categories:
- Be a low-income student (maximum income levels are available online) and a first-generation college student of any ethnicity (a first-generation college student is someone whose parent(s) or guardian(s) did not complete a bachelor’s degree).
- Be a member of at least one of the ethnic groups underrepresented in American graduate schools— Black/African-American, Hispanic, Native American, or Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.
During the application process, you will have an opportunity to save your work. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The current application cycle has closed.
