Jobs & Internships

The Sloan Career Cornerstone Center

This is probably the best resource of its kind I have seen on the web. Here you will find profiles of mathematicians and their jobs, salary ranges, and advice on how to prepare for your own career. If you prefer the same information but on a torus with fancy graphics and Quicktime movies, I have a CD-ROM you can borrow. They have also compiled a list of employers.

Education Job Opportunities Information Network (EDJOIN)

You can search for education positions in California by county or district at this site. Job seekers can apply online using this system and can even track their applications as they move through the hiring process.

Student Employment Services

Search for on-campus student employment job opportunities (student assistant positions) online. These are not just work study jobs.

Internship & Co-op Opportunities for Undergraduates

This page of links is maintained by the American Mathematical Society.

Career Services at CSU Stanislaus

The Career Service Office will work with current students to assist them in the process of developing, initiating, implementing and evaluating their career plans. They maintain pages of how-to guides on resume writing, interviewing, cover letters, networking, and job search strategies.

Their database is searchable by country and by job category. This site also has tips on applying for positions in foreign countries.

Practice Actuarial Problems

Studying for the actuarial exams? Here are some problems adapted from or similar to questions from Exam P, Exam FM, and and Exam MLC. You may have to download additional software/fonts from this site.

Research Experience for Undergraduates, a program funded by the National Science Foundation. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. You can search their database by discipline and location.
