The success of Stan State’s mission to propel the region through affordable education continues to be noticed on a national level, with Forbes magazine moving the University up to No. 101 on its list of America’s Best Value Colleges.

The ranking represents a one-year upward movement of 185 spots for Stan State in the annual report that weighs the cost of attendance against the benefits of earning a degree. Forbes grades four-year colleges in the areas of net price, net debt, alumni earnings, timely graduation, school quality and access for low-income students, and ranks the top 300 for this report, now in its third year.

Previously released Forbes rankings in other areas also indicate steady upward movements for Stan State. Over the last year, the University has moved up to No. 384 (from 475) in overall quality, to No. 126 (from 159) among the nation’s public universities, and to No. 73 (from 91) among all colleges in the West Region.

Stan State was one of seven CSUs to be ranked in the top 3 percent of the more than 3,000 colleges surveyed and graded in the Best Value report.
