Grammar

Good grammar is a foundation for excellent writing. Understanding sentence structure, syntax and word choice will set the stage for writing that is clear and effective. While grammar is often associated with errors or correctness, using good grammar is equally critical to making a first impression with the reader.

Consider the grammar used in a cover letter for a job application, or other important document, that might be influential in landing a job or promotion. In these cases, grammar is essential to successful writing and effective communication.

On this page you will find a writing example that has been improved by editing and correcting grammar, as well as additional resources to improve grammar and foundational writing skills.
