Stanislaus State recently received notice from third-party technology provider Blackbaud, that between February and May 2020 hackers breached its network and unsuccessfully attempted to install ransomware to lock customers out of their data and servers. Read the description of the security incident on Blackbaud’s website.
Blackbaud asserts that no credit card data was compromised and that all sensitive information such as social security numbers or government ID numbers was encrypted and therefore not exposed to the cybercriminal.
Stanislaus State places a priority on information security and the safeguarding of personal data, and has been working with the CSU Chancellor’s Office to gather information to determine all details of this security incident and Blackbaud’s proposed remediation plans. Stanislaus State will provide additional information as it becomes available.
