Event Details
Join us for an interactive panel discussion with two black trans academics in conversation about their experiences teaching and working in higher-education, including creating learning opportunities, mentoring underrepresented student groups and advancing institutional change. Presenters include Dr. Trystan Cotten, he/him/his, professor of Gender Studies in the Department of Sociology, Gerontology and Gender at Stanislaus State, managing editor of Transgress Press and an indie trans/queer/feminist publisher, and Dr. S Simmons, he/him/his, Assistant Instructional Professor in the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago and Co-owner of Simmons Counseling and Consulting Services. Co-hosted by the department of Sociology, Gerontology and Gender Studies, The Warrior Cross Cultural Center and the Ethnic Studies program.
