Program Prerequisites

The minimum requirements for non-provisional entry into the graduate program are:

  1. B.S. in Biology (or a similar program of study);
  2. Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (in the last 60 units);
  3. Completion of the following courses (or equivalent):
  • MATH 1600: Statistics
  • MATH 1410: Calculus
  • BIOL 4680: Ecology
  • BIOL 4300: Conservation Biology

Additional prerequisite courses for the concentration in Ecological Economics:

  • ECON 2510: Principles of Microeconomics (and) ECON 2500: Principles of Macroeconomics, (or)
  • ECON 5050: Business and the Economic Environment 3 units

Note: A student whose undergraduate program is not similar to the B.S. in Biological Sciences at CSU Stanislaus, or who has not taken all of the pre-requisite courses, may be admitted as a graduate student in provisional status. The student will be required to take background courses (such as the above listed courses) prior to full admittance into the M.S. in Ecology and Sustainability program.
