Designated ESSENTIAL Employee

Monday, March 16, 2020

In rigorous consultation with the Chancellor’s Office and system leadership, we are accelerating the transition to virtual modes of instruction and operation. Effective immediately, as a designated ESSENTIAL employee, your manager should be contacting you to discuss reporting to work on campus or to make arrangements for you to work remotely beginning Tuesday, March 17.

If you reside in a county that has been told to shelter in place, are age 65 years and older, or have a condition that makes you vulnerable to COVID-19 please remain at home. If you are not able to work from home, you will be placed on paid administrative leave.

The campus is NOT closing. All divisions are asked to implement their business continuity plans. All staff able to work remotely, even if not designated as essential, will be working with their manager to arrange for remote work as needed and where possible.

We are especially grateful for those of you who will work as usual to keep our campus community healthy and safe.
