Campus Community:

Stanislaus State is partnering with Stanislaus County Health Services Agency to serve as a COVID-19 point-of-dispensing (POD) vaccination site and providing on-site support to county health workers. The site begins operations Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, including holidays, through July 31.

The Health Services Agency will administer vaccinations to individuals based on guidance recommendations from federal, state and county health officials. The county is currently providing vaccinations to individuals in all tiers of the Phase 1A rollout that includes ONLY healthcare workers and people age 65 and older.

Those coming to the site should:

  • Use the Geer Road entrance to the campus
  • Free parking is available in Lot 8 and 11a, near Fitzpatrick Arena
  • No appointment is necessary; first come, first serve
  • Bring a photo ID
  • Wear face coverings and maintain a distance of six feet from others while waiting in line

“Stanislaus State is proud to be a partner in this critical endeavor that will help save lives in our community and overcome this devastating virus,” said Christene James, vice president for business and finance at Stanislaus State. “Individuals from across campus came together quickly to determine how we could offer support. We have a social and civic responsibility to do everything we can to support our community in the fight against COVID-19.”

Campus community members age 65 and older can get vaccinated now through their health care provider or the county. The vaccine is not yet available for faculty and staff under age 65.

At a future date, when Stanislaus County begins distribution in Phase 1B Tier 1 of the Stanislaus County vaccine distribution plan (PDF), additional Stan State faculty and staff (not including student employees at this time) will be eligible to receive the vaccine. When it is available, details regarding specific eligibility for faculty and staff will be communicated.
