Eligibility

All students who have an approved Application for Graduation and completed all course work in the Fall of 2019, Spring of 2020 and Summer 2020 are eligible to participate in the 2020 Commencement.

Students must be approved for graduation by April 3, 2020 in order for their names to be included in the Commencement Program.

Student Speaker Application

Applications for Student Speaker are not being accepted at this time.

An application deadline will be announced as soon as new dates for our graduation ceremonies are selected.


Three students will be selected as student commencement speakers, one for each ceremony.

The Commencement speech should be roughly 5 minutes in length, focus on graduation, and be of broad general interest for graduates, family members, faculty, administrators, and guests.

Academic Regalia

While the University Bookstore is closed, graduates will be able to purchase regalia online. Online purchases are tentatively scheduled to start in late April.

Please check back for additional information about how to make an online purchase.

Grad Fair

Cords

Cords will be available for purchase upon the re-opening of the University Bookstore. Please check back for updates.

Gold honor cords will be issued to students graduating Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude or Summa Cum Laude. The bookstore will have the eligible student list.

Honor Cords – Candidates graduating with honors will wear gold cords, and receive recognition in the ceremony and official program.

Rehearsal

Procession Assembly

  • Graduates from the College of the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
  • Graduates from the College of Science

Meet in front of Bizzini Hall at 7:30am.


  • Graduates from the College of Education, Kinesiology, Social Work, and the College of Business Administration

Meet in front of Bizzini Hall at 3:30pm.

All candidates need to arrive with academic regalia, to prepare for the academic procession. Commencement programs and processional information will be provided. (Bizzini Hall: See Building #2 on Campus Site Map)
