Graduation Honors are awarded to students earning baccalaureate degrees. Honors candidates are identified by braided cords worn over their gowns. Criteria for honors are based on both their overall and Stanislaus State grade point averages:
Cum Laude 3.40-3.59
Magna Cum Laude 3.60-3.79
Summa Cum Laude 3.80-4.00
Graduate students who have a minimum grade point average of 3.90 and have been nominated by their department for high honor, receive degrees “With Distinction.”
Honors Program students participate in a four-year program of unique learning opportunities. Admission is partly based on academic achievement.
Phi Kappa Phi is an honor society committed to the promotion and recognition of superior academic achievement in all disciplines of higher education.
