Dr. Caroline Mercier has taught, designed and exhibited her work for more than 12 years. Originally from Quebec, she has collaborated with companies and directors such as Tuyo, Le cirque du Soleil, Theatre Omnibus, Robert Lepage, Douglas Campbell and McGill Opera. She has been nominated for "best costume designer" award at the AQT, and has been awarded several important excellence and research grants from FCAR and CSU system. She started in fashion design and quickly moved on to theatre where she worked across all live and recorded media such as performance, circus, opera, music concerts, television and cinema. She has also dressed many famous personalities through the years such as Carol Channing, Rosanne Barr, Dennis Leary and Drew Carey. Lately, she could be found on the set of the upcoming movie: She's the man.

She spent 5 years in the British Isles, studying and creating new work. Her PhD Fine Arts, specialized in Creative Costume Design is the first one of its kind in the Western World. She has been invited as guest artist in residence in Art Centers in England, Ireland, France and also Thailand where she spend a summer creating work and exhibiting in Bangkok. In the last 5 years, she has focused her work in on theatrical makeup and special effects. She has studied at Westmore Academy as well as under F/X specialist Michael Burnett of Hollywood. She has been teaching Theatrical Makeup at her own institution, given workshops and professional master-classes for festivals such as the Kennedy American College Theatre Festival (KAACTF), in Universities such as Queen Margaret College, Winchester University as well as been a consultant for extravaganzas in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
