ASI Study Abroad Scholarship

The Study Abroad Scholarship provides financial assistance and awards Study Abroad students. The award will be based on academic merit and community service.

How much is awarded?

Total of ten $500 scholarships will be awarded for the academic year.

When is the deadline?

November 1st – Deadline for Spring 2022 Study Abroad Programs.

April 15th Deadline for Summer or Fall 2022 Study Abroad Programs.

50% of scholarships will be allocated for students to request during the fall semester, and 50% will be allocated during the spring semester. Any funds not utilized or allocated in the fall semester can roll over to spring semester allocation.

Am I eligible to apply?

  • Eligible applicants must be participating in an affiliate providers program (CSU-IP, USAC, or Exchange).
  • The scholarship is open to all majors, class levels, undergraduate, graduate, part-time, and full-time students.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled at California State University, Stanislaus.
  • Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Applicants must be in good academic standing with the university.
  • Incoming or current ASI members are not eligible to apply for scholarship.

Do I meet the criteria?

  • The scholarship is open to all majors, class levels, undergraduate, graduate, part-time, and full-time students.
  • Be an active contributor to the CSU, Stanislaus community and/or previous high school or community college community.

What to include?

Submit a 1-page, double spaced service-based statement of purpose. The 1-page statement should discuss the following points.

  1. What are your academic, career and personal goals associated with this program? Why did you select the specific program and university in the proposed country?
  2. What makes you an ideal American “cultural ambassador” and representative of Stanislaus State abroad?
  3. How do you plan to “give back” to the international academic and student communities at Stanislaus State upon your return to the States?
  4. Why do you need this scholarship and if selected to receive this scholarship, how do you plan to use the money?

What happens after I apply?

If you provide a complete application by the deadline, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship. Your application will then be made available to the scholarship committee for review. If you are awarded the scholarship, you will receive a notification from the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office.
