Warriors Giving Back (WGB) is a community service project presented by Associated Students, Inc. and the University Student Union. ASI & USU offer a range of opportunities for students, faculty and s taff to give back to our community.
Backpack + School Supply Drive
This project is kicked off at the beginning of Fall semester. We collect school supplies, backpacks, and monetary donations of any amount to provide local elementary school students with supplies that will enable success throughout the year.
For Fall 2018, we held our 4th annual supply drive and ASI/USU would like to thank everyone who kindly donated. We received a total of 66 backpacks, 94 notebooks & binders, 193 writing & craft supplies and 75 misc. items. All items were divided up and delivered to 3 local Elementary schools.
ASI & USU collaborate with Blood Source, Student Health Center and NAK to host an on-campus blood drive once per semester. Help save lives and make a difference in the community.
During the Fall 2018 Blood Drive on September 30th we registered 105 donors, collected a total of 83 lifesaving pints of blood, and registered 79 brand new donors. Thank you to all our donors!
Warrior Food Drive
Give the gift of food! Help your fellow Warriors by donating non-perishable food, toiletries or hygiene products. All donations will go to the Warrior Food Pantry.
For Fall 2018, our donation period will be from November 5th - December 3rd 2018.
Project Giving Tree
Tis the season to give! This project is focused on gathering wish list items from local elementary-aged children, placing them on ‘tags’ to be hung on our Giving Tree, and enticing students, faculty, staff to ‘adopt’ at least one tag to fulfill the wish upon it. During Fall 2017, we received over 170 gift donations.
For Fall 2018, our donation period will be November 14th - December 12th 2018.
This project is our Spring community service event and Earth Day celebration. We encourage students and Alumni to give back to our community through clean up, repairs & beautification projects.
Stay tuned for Spring 2019 date.
