The deadline is approaching to apply for the Robert Noyce Scholarship Program, which provides $10,000 to math and science teacher candidates in exchange for a commitment to spend two years teaching in a high-need school.
Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Noyce Scholarship is open to any CSU Stanislaus student currently enrolled in or newly admitted to the university's Single Subject Credential Program for the 2013-14 academic year. The deadline to submit a completed application packet is Friday, April 25.
Scholarship recipients, known as Noyce Scholars, participate in professional development activities and receive mentoring and support from faculty and staff. Scholarships are applied first to tuition and fees, with remaining funds eligible to be used for other education-related expenses.
