Professor Emeritus of Anthropology
Thomas E. Durbin received his B.A. in anthropology from U.C. Berkeley in 1964 and an M.A. (1966) and a Ph.D. in anthropology (1970) from U.C.L.A. During the 1950s and '60s he conducted research in California archaeology, Mesoamerican archaeology and ethnohistory and from the 1970s through the present he has pursued research in Mesoamerican ethnology (economic anthropology) and Polynesian (Hawaiian/Kauaiian) archaeology and ethnohistory.
A faculty member at CSU Stanislaus since 1970, Dr. Durbin is presently Professor Emeritus of Anthropology. His affiliations include Fellow of the American Anthropological Association, American Research Center in Egypt, Archaeological Institute of America, Egypt Exploration Society, Fellow of the Explorers Club of America, and Mechanics Institute Library Life Member.
