Lisa McMullen, Director of Alumni Relations
Just as the new Stanislaus State logo demonstrates, Warrior pride is strong! Over the last year, we have seen an increase in alumni support — philanthropy, service and advocacy. Thank you all for showing up and making your University noticed through event attendance, One Purpose membership, volunteering and advocacy through the Class of 3 Million!
The Office of Alumni Relations will continue to find ways to encourage alumni participation through new programming, which will further unite alumni with their alma mater and with the University community.
We are excited to launch the inaugural Professor for a Day event, which will take place this spring. The Office of Alumni Relations, in collaboration with the academic colleges, will bring distinguished alumni from various industries and professional backgrounds into the classroom to share their expertise and real-life experiences. Get more information on Professor for a Day webpage.
The return of the Alumni of the Year award, which will be presented during Commencement, is given in honor of the University’s most outstanding alumni. The award is based on leadership and service to the University, the region and beyond. The award has been established to provide special recognition to an individual who has distinguished himself or herself through outstanding achievement during their post-collegiate career. I encourage you to visit the website for more information and to submit nominations in the spring.
Lastly, I trust that you have read about or been asked to participate in the One Purpose fund drive in support of student scholarships. The second annual campaign runs Aug. 27-Oct. 8. I encourage you to join me, as the University community — alumni, faculty, staff, and community members — comes together to show support for the value of higher education and Stanislaus State!
