Join us for a Turlock tradition this 4th of July as families gather in Downtown Turlock for a parade, street faire and car show followed by family activities, live entertainment and a spectacular display of fireworks at Stanislaus State.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the City of Turlock and the Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association to continue this wonderful tradition in celebration of our nation’s history and our freedoms,” said Stanislaus State President Ellen Junn. “As a campus, we are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming location for our community to enjoy and celebrate.”
The celebration begins at 10 a.m. in Downtown Turlock as the community gathers for the 4th of July Parade, Street Faire and Car Show. The festivities will honor veterans and military personnel with the theme “Honor. Courage. Sacrifice.” The parade begins at Palm Street, makes its way down historic Main Street and ends at Broadway Park, where the street faire and car show will be held until 3 p.m.
The downtown festivities will include a kids’ zone, and the car show will feature special awards including Mayor’s Choice, City Council Member’s Choice, Fire Chief’s Choice and Police Chief’s Choice.
Festivities will continue in the evening with family activities, live entertainment and food options offered from 7-9 p.m. on the Stan State campus. The Quad will host a children’s play area organized by Turlock Parks and Recreation, as well as dining options from Chartwells.
The event will include two live performance stages, with Lizette and the Loudmouths playing at Pergola Meadows and a live jazz band featured on the University Amphitheatre stage.
This is the third straight year the fireworks will be back on display at the Stan State campus, offering an opportunity for our community to enjoy the beautiful, park-like atmosphere. It’s a perfect venue to spread out a blanket, visit with family and friends, grab some snacks and celebrate as a community in patriotic spirit.
A spectacular display of fireworks is set to kickoff at 9 p.m.
Parking on campus will be free. Please also note that Monte Vista Avenue between Geer Road and Crowell Road will be closed starting at 6:00 p.m. Access to the parking lots will be available from the south via Dels Lane, the east via Geer, the west via Crowell, and the north via Christoffersen Parkway.
No alcohol, glass containers, personal fireworks or barbecues will be permitted on campus during the event.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available to support the fireworks display. Information can be found on the 4th of July Celebration website or by calling (209) 667-3131. For details about entering the parade, street faire or car show, please visit the Downtown Turlock website.
