Director's Corner

Lisa McMullenThere has been much to celebrate at Stan State. The Alumni Association’s annual fundraiser, Vines, welcomed back 30 exhibitors who provided wine, brews and bites to more than 200 ticketed guests, all in support of student scholarships, alumni programs and campus projects. The Grad Pack for graduating seniors sold out for a second year in a row. The Grad Pack, which has keepsake alumni items bundled with regalia, is the graduate’s first alumni gear as they transition from student to alumni. And finally, we introduced 2,600 students to their alumni status at the three 2016 Commencement ceremonies.

Looking ahead, your Alumni Association is excited to introduce new programs, professional resources and activities as we enter into summer and transition to fall. Be sure to follow us on social media and check your inbox often.

Soon you will receive an invitation to create a free digital portfolio through the Portfolium platform. We hope Stan State alumni find this to be an innovative tool and helpful resource for their academic and professional journeys. More to come soon!

Stan State baseball fans will want to save the date for our inaugural Warriors at the Park on October 1. Stan State alumni and friends will be invited to a fun-filled day as we charter a bus to AT&T Park to watch the Giants take on the Dodgers! Ticket information to come!

This is an exciting time for Stan State alumni as we look to continue programming and increase our advocacy efforts but this is also a time for us to reflect on the support received from our University leader, President Joseph Sheley. From the beginning of his tenure, President Sheley has been steadfast in his support of the Alumni Association. Through his leadership, alumni were reminded of the importance of having pride in their alma mater. He reminded Stan State alumni that our University, its students and graduates, have a hand in moving our region forward. There is much to celebrate and many of the things we celebrate have been a direct result of the fine leadership from President Sheley. As we look ahead we know great things are to come for our campus and graduates because of the steady foundation in place. We thank President Sheley for his vision and commitment to Stanislaus State.

Warm regards,
