Parent/Guest Orientation
The beginning of a student’s collegiate experience at California State University, Stanislaus is an exciting time in the lives of both students and parents. It is also a time filled with questions and concerns regarding your child’s upcoming transition to college. For this reason, we offer an orientation just for parents and guests. While your student is at New Student Orientation, parents and guests have their own orientation with topics tailored to meet your specific needs and concerns. At Parent/Guest Orientation you will be able to:
Hear speakers on such topics as Career Services, The Transition to College Life, Housing and Residential Life, Getting Involved with Student Activities, Enrollment Services and Financial Aid.
Meet faculty and university staff
Socialize with current students and other parents and ask questions.
Learn about what your student needs to graduate
Receive a valuable Parent Handbook
The fee is $35.00 per person, which includes a catered lunch as well as all the materials. In order to attend, you must register by the deadline using the on-line Registration Form. Once payment is made to the Cashier's Office, an email will be sent with information regarding logisitics for the day of orientation. Please note that childcare is not provided and therefore children are not allowed at Parent/Guest Orientation. Please notify our office a week prior to your chosen orientation if you have special dietary needs or need disability or mobility accommodations.
Housing offers an Overnight Orientation Program. It provides a convenient place to stay while on campus to attend orientation, as well as a fun night of entertainment and mingling.
