The beginning of a student’s collegiate experience at California State University, Stanislaus is an exciting time in the lives of both students and parents. It is also a time filled with questions and concerns regarding your child’s upcoming transition to college. For this reason, we offer an orientation just for parents and guests. While your student is at New Student Orientation, parents and guests have their own orientation with topics tailored to meet your specific needs and concerns. At Parent/Guest Orientation you will be able to:
- Attend two workshops on topics such as Career Services, The Transition to College Life, Housing and Residential Life, Getting Involved with Student Activities or Enrollment Services and Financial Aid.
- Meet faculty and university staff
- Socialize with current students and other parents and ask questions during our student/parent panel
- Learn about what your student needs to graduate
- Receive a valuable Parent Handbook (available in Spanish by request)
Parent/Guest Orientations are only held on the same dates as the freshman New Student Orientation. Parents of transfer students are welcome to attend a Parent/Guest Orientation on any of those dates. The fee is $35.00 per person, which includes a catered lunch as well as all the materials. In order to attend, you must register by the deadline
using the on-line Registration Form. Please note that childcare is not provided and therefore children are not allowed at Parent/Guest Orientation. Please notify our office a week prior to your chosen orientation if you will need a Spanish translator or any disability or mobility accommodations. |
