Sierra Fitness Trek - Fitness, Awareness & Nutrition "FAN"
Enrollment for this program has been closed for the semester.
The Goal
The John Muir Trail is 215 miles from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney. To track your journey on the map in the Fitness Center you will have to be steady and true to a fitness program. Though not extremely challenging to some, this will help keep you on a trail to being fit while making you aware of the trail named after a true adventurer. The goal is to follow a schedule and finish; not to race and see who wins...so remember steady is the mule that goes into the canyon. DH
Experience a fun way to track a workout and earn awesome StanRec gear!
Exercise your body to help strengthen your heart and mind. For if we are not strenghtening our body and our heart through exercise, the purpose of education pursuits, improving our minds, will not be as strong.
Suggested Daily Schedule
- Warm up/Cool down exercises before and after every workout.
- Full body stretch before and after workouts.
- Cardio for 60 minutes at your target heart rate, and weightlifting for 20 minutes.
- For cardio, do a variety of activities - walk, run, bike, elliptical, climber, aerobics, etc.
