The University's property insurance through CSURMA covers buildings and landscaping. The insurance is intended to protect the University in event of catastrophic loss; therefore, the deductible is $100,000. Exclusions on the policy include damage caused by earthquake and mold. Also excluded is any building damage under $100,000.00, and the contents of the building (furniture, equipment, computers, etc.).
Contact the Risk Manager for a complete description of property insurance limits, coverages and exclusions.
Significant property damage (even when the cost is unknown or below $100,000.00) should be reported as soon as possible to the Risk Manager so that all costs can be accounted for and if necessary, a claim can be filed. To report losses occurring after hours or on the weekend, contact University Police at extension 3114.
